Saying GoodbyeSaying goodbye is not always easy. When kids see the dark green Amy bags and silver dog tags around their parents neck they know they will not see them for months. Having this lump in your throat can be difficult. You can help the family by making them a meal or delivering cookies as a nice jester.

When DeployedWhen a loving family member is away for a period of time the family needs support. Older kids are taking on more jobs around the house that the parent would have done. As a community there are many ways to show support, you can make a meal and deliver it at their doorstep. You can mow their lawn. Offer to help watch their pets. In the winter you can shovel their driveway. Showing support will make it an easier transition for the military family.

Keeping IntouchThanks to technology military families can connect with each other face to face by using Facetime and Skype. There is also the old fashion way of writing letters. Not seeing their family member in person can be a challenge. You can send a care package to the military personal deployed or send a thank you card for serving our country.
